Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect the information you choose to give us. Through the contact form on this site, that is your name, email address, the topic you select, and the message you send. At our events, it is the details you enter on the event sign-up page (see Event sign-ups below). Through the client portal, mobile application and related platform services, we hold the artefacts, briefs, notes, account details and access information created during an engagement. Our web hosting may also record standard technical logs such as IP address and browser type.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, deliver and administer engagements, operate the client portal, mobile application and related platform services, and communicate with you about work you have asked us to do. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We send updates about our work only to people who have asked for them.

Event sign-ups

When you scan the QR code at one of our events, the sign-up page asks for your name and email address, and optionally your business name and your answers to a short survey. Each event page shows a collection notice before you submit. We use these details to send you the event resources and a thank-you email with a private link back to them, to learn what was useful, and to follow up about the event. We send you updates from Ascend only if you tick the box asking for them. It is never ticked for you, and we record the wording you agreed to and when.

Event pages run no analytics or advertising trackers. To stop the form being misused, we keep a one-way hash of your network address rather than the address itself. If an event uses a backup form instead of the sign-up page, the same applies: we move those responses into our own system with your consent record and then delete them from the form.

Your private download link stops working 30 days after the event closes. If you did not ask for updates, we delete your name, email address, business name and survey answers 12 months after the event, or 12 months after you last signed up if that is later, and may keep survey results only in a form that no longer identifies you. If you asked for updates, we keep your details until you ask us to stop or to delete them. You can ask us to delete your event details at any time by emailing info@ascendintelligence.tech.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API on our lead pages

Our ad lead pages, the pages you reach from an ad on Facebook or Instagram, use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. The rest of this site and our event pages do not.

On a lead page we send Meta the pages you visit, whether you submit the form, a one-way hash (a scrambled version that cannot be read back) of your email address, phone number and name if you give them, your IP address, browser identifiers such as cookies and your browser type, and the click ID Meta adds to the ad link. We do this to measure how our ads perform and to improve them, for example to learn which ads lead to enquiries.

Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms, Inc. receive this information. That means it goes outside Australia, to Ireland and the United States. Meta handles it under its own privacy policy and may use it for its own purposes, such as matching it to Facebook and Instagram accounts.

You can opt out. Change your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account under Ad preferences, block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser that blocks trackers. You can also email info@ascendintelligence.tech and we will tell you what we hold and delete it. Submitting a lead form does not sign you up to marketing email. We ask for that separately, with its own tick box that is never ticked for you.

Disclosure

We disclose information only to the service providers that help us run the business, for example our infrastructure and email providers, and only as needed to deliver our services. Where required, we may disclose information to comply with the law. Some providers may store data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it to a comparable standard.

Storage and security

Information is held in reputable cloud services and protected with access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

Access and correction

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain records. Email info@ascendintelligence.tech and we will respond within a reasonable time.
